Senior Scientific Expert (GU Oncology or Lung Cancer)

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • ✓Lead Medical strategy and execution for the therapeutic area, with clear priorities and measurable outcomes.
  • ✓Provide Japanese Medical input into clinical development, target product profiles, evidence generation, launch planning, and lifecycle management.
  • ✓Shape and oversee evidence generation plans, including clinical studies, investigator-initiated research, real-world evidence, and publications.
  • ✓Identify evidence gaps and lead scientific activities such as study design, protocol development, data analysis, abstracts, manuscripts, and dissemination.
  • ✓Lead advisory boards, expert engagements, and scientific exchange activities to generate actionable insights.
  • ✓Build and maintain trusted relationships with Thought Leaders, investigators, professional societies, and other external stakeholders.
  • ✓Drive alignment and decision-making across Medical Affairs, Clinical Development, Clinical Operations, Marketing, Sales, Market Access, Regulatory Affairs, and Pharmacovigilance.
  • ✓Act as the key scientific liaison between Japan and Global/Regional teams, representing local medical needs and insights.
  • ✓Anticipate risks, solve complex business and scientific challenges, and propose innovative approaches.
  • ✓Review and approve promotional and non-promotional materials in compliance with regulations and company standards.
  • ✓Coach and develop colleagues through scientific leadership, mentoring, and knowledge sharing.
  • ✓Leverage digital and AI-enabled tools to enhance scientific insights, productivity, and decision-making.
  • ✓Support the Medical function head in setting priorities, allocating resources, and driving organizational effectiveness.

WHO YOU ARE

  • ✓University Degree or above (MD, PhD or equivalent advanced degree preferred)
  • ✓At least 3 years experience in a MSL/ Senior Scientific Expert or R&D role in Oncology TA is preferred
  • ✓Experience in driving and managing the medical strategy for various brands in the pharmaceutical industry
  • ✓Clinical research and trial management experience, and be able to interact authoritatively with key stakeholders and investigators.
  • ✓Excellent presentation and teaching skills and to represent the company in a professional manner at medical, scientific and public events.
  • ✓Independent, self-driven, pro-active, extrovert and dynamic
  • ✓Ability to form relationships quickly and have demonstrable persuasive abilities
  • ✓Highly effective communicator both orally and in writing; can get ideas across one-on-in, in group settings as well as in presentations
  • ✓Exceptional leadership capabilities; ability to motivate. Highly organized with attention to detail
  • ✓Strong team player and know how to collaborate and engage many stakeholders across a large organization
