DESCRIPTION: Join Thermo Fisher Scientific as a Demand Planning Supervisor and make a meaningful impact on global healthcare and scientific advancement. In this role, you'll manage planning activities for our service parts business, working at the intersection of commercial operations and supply chain management. You'll enhance forecast accuracy, develop inventory strategies, and play a key role in our Sales, Inventory & Operations Planning (SIOP) process.
This position offers the opportunity to collaborate with cross-functional teams while managing both Make-to-Stock (MTS) and Make-to-Order (MTO) planning strategies. You'll evaluate supply capacity, identify risks and opportunities, and ensure our supply chain effectively meets customer demands. Essential Functions and Responsibilities Align the unconstrained demand forecast with the BU, commercial and product management teams. Drive Forecasting metrics Ensure SKU unit/case demand alignment is translated to Operations Align the demand plan with the site planning team to assure the right net demand to be loaded to the site (Global level for the sites within region) : Forecast less inventory = demand plan Send the Demand Plan to the Site Production Planning Team to develop the constrained supply plan = Feasible Supply Plan 12 – 18 months out Communicate constraints and allocations to the BU, customer and sales teams (SOP needed) Drive gap allocation processes together with other regions and the site planning team (lead by the analytics team) for short term and long-term strategic planning Manage the manual allocation process for day-to-day execution Drive the product segmentation and alignment with commercial to decide on the right supply chain setup Conduct the SIOP demand review meetings, bridge regional plan to regional financial plan Plan ramp up and ramp down scenarios for new product introductions and product discontinuations REQUIREMENTS: • Advanced Degree plus 3 years of experience, or Bachelor's Degree plus 5 years of experience in demand and supply planning • Preferred Fields of Study: Supply Chain Management or related field • APICS certification or equivalent supply chain certification preferred • Strong proficiency in MRP systems, SAP, and inventory management processes • Advanced Excel skills and experience with Power BI or similar business intelligence tools • Fluent in English and Mandarin, both written and verbal • Demonstrated expertise in SIOP processes and forecast accuracy improvement • Experience in capacity planning and supplier performance management • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities • Excellent cross-functional communication and influence skills • Ability to work effectively in a matrix organization • Experience with inventory optimization and E&O reduction strategies • Demonstrated success in meeting deadlines and managing priorities • Customer-oriented mindset with strong business acumen • Project management skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
