JOB DESCRIPTION: Position Summary Abbott is seeking an experienced and dynamic Sr. Manager, Data & Analytics Delivery to lead and grow a Malaysia and India based team supporting global Data Engineering, Business Intelligence, Data Platforms, Artificial Intelligence, and Advanced Analytics initiatives. This leader will serve as the primary people and delivery manager for resources operating within Malaysia and APAC time zones, partnering closely with leaders across the Global Information Management and Intelligent Automation Solutions and Advanced Analytics.
The role will be responsible for building high-performing teams, driving execution excellence, developing talent, and ensuring successful delivery of critical data and analytics solutions that support business priorities across Abbott. The ideal candidate combines strong leadership skills with a solid technical understanding of modern data platforms, analytics, AI, and business intelligence solutions and thrives in a fast-paced, highly collaborative global environment. Key Responsibilities Delivery Leadership Lead day-to-day operations of a Malaysia and India based Data & Analytics delivery organization.
Drive successful execution of projects supporting Data Engineering, Reporting, Advanced Analytics, AI, and Data Platform initiatives. Ensure high-quality, timely delivery of solutions while meeting established business objectives and service commitments. Collaborate with global stakeholders to prioritize work, manage capacity, and optimize resource utilization.
Establish and monitor operational metrics, delivery KPIs, and continuous improvement initiatives. Team Leadership & Talent Development Recruit, develop, and retain high-performing technical professionals. Provide leadership, coaching, mentoring, and career development support for team members.
Foster an inclusive, collaborative, and high-accountability culture. Manage employee performance, succession planning, and workforce development activities. Support scaling of the organization in alignment with business growth and strategic priorities.
Data Engineering & Platform Enablement Lead teams supporting enterprise data engineering and data platform initiatives. Support development and maintenance of modern cloud-based data solutions. Partner with global technology teams to implement best practices, standards, and governance processes.
Drive adoption of scalable and reusable development frameworks. Support modernization efforts involving Databricks, Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Services, and related technologies. Analytics & AI Solutions Partner with Advanced Analytics leaders to support delivery of predictive analytics, machine learning, AI, and Generative AI initiatives.
Enable development of scalable analytics solutions that improve business decision-making and operational performance. Support responsible AI practices, governance processes, and model lifecycle management. Promote innovation and continuous learning across analytics and AI disciplines.
Business Partnership Collaborate with business stakeholders and IT partners to understand priorities and deliver value-driven solutions. Serve as a trusted delivery partner across Commercial, Supply Chain, Finance, Quality, Manufacturing, and Corporate functions. Support cross-functional initiatives requiring coordination across multiple global teams.
Ensure solutions align with security, compliance, quality, and regulatory requirements. Operational Excellence Establish effective delivery processes, resource planning practices, and team operating models. Identify opportunities to improve productivity, quality, and customer satisfaction.
Manage vendor and partner relationships when appropriate. Drive continuous improvement and operational maturity across the delivery organization. Preferred Qualifications Education Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Analytics, Data Science, or a related field.
Master's degree preferred. Experience 8+ years of experience in Data Engineering, Analytics, Information Management, Business Intelligence, or related disciplines. 3+ years of leadership experience managing technical teams.
Experience supporting global delivery organizations and distributed teams. Experience building and leading offshore or capability-center teams is highly desirable. Demonstrated success leading large-scale data and analytics projects.
Technical Knowledge Experience in one or more of the following areas: Data Engineering Data Platforms Databricks Microsoft Fabric Azure Data Services Business Intelligence & Reporting Artificial Intelligence & Generative AI Advanced Analytics ETL & Data Integration Cloud Technologies Power BI Leadership Competencies Strong people leadership and coaching capabilities. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. Ability to influence without direct authority across global organizations.
Strong problem-solving, planning, and organizational skills. Passion for innovation, talent development, and continuous improvement. Success in This Role Within three years, the successful candidate will help establish a strategic Data & Analytics delivery hub supporting global business priorities through: Data Engineering Services Analytics Development AI & Generative AI Solutions Data Platform Support Business Intelligence & Reporting Shared Global Delivery Capabilities This leader will build a highly engaged, scalable team recognized for technical excellence, innovation, operational efficiency, and business impact.
