Job Title: Account Manager Process Solutions Japan.

Location: Japan Tokyo or Osaka.

Reports To: Head of Region, Process Solutions.

The Process Solutions division provides systems and equipment, filtration solutions, consumables, services, and pharmaceutical raw materials to pharmaceutical companies for use throughout drug development and manufacturing.

With a broad portfolio of solutions, the division partners with customers to support the development of innovative medicines and enable reliable, high-quality production—ultimately contributing to improved patient health and society.

The team builds strategic partnerships with a wide range of customers, from global pharmaceutical companies to venture-backed biotechnology organizations. By delivering high-quality solutions that respond to evolving customer needs, we help advance the pharmaceutical industry.

Your role

As Account Manager, Process Solutions, you will manage and grow strategic customer relationships across Japan. You will work closely with customers and internal stakeholders to understand business needs, develop effective solutions, and advance projects from opportunity identification through execution. You will:

  • Deliver annual sales growth of 10% in a market expected to grow by 8%.
  • Manage and develop customer relationships to strengthen customer experience, retention, and revenue growth through continuous engagement and value creation.
  • Identify and capture new business opportunities aligned with customer requirements and market needs.
  • Drive competitive conversions through solution selling and value-based selling.
  • Develop and execute account and sales strategies that support sustainable business growth.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to move customer projects forward and deliver effective solutions.
  • Build trusted relationships with key opinion leaders and senior customer stakeholders.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of customer priorities, industry developments, and competitive dynamics.
  • Engage customers with a consultative approach, translating their challenges into relevant products, services, and solutions.
  • Work on complex, high-impact projects while benefiting from comprehensive training and strong internal support.

Who You Are

  • Bachelor’s degree in science, chemistry, engineering, biotechnology required; an MBA or equivalent advanced degree is preferred.
  • At least 7 years of experience in commercial sales role, with at least 10 years of professional experience in the biopharmaceutical, pharmaceutical, or broader life sciences industry.
  • Good knowledge of biopharmaceutical products, processes, and business applications.
  • Strong project management skills and the ability to coordinate complex initiatives.
  • Experience developing and implementing sales strategies.
  • Strong execution discipline and persistence in achieving assigned targets.
  • Ability to engage effectively with key opinion leaders and senior external stakeholders at an appropriate strategic level.
  • Strong negotiation skills, particularly in difficult or complex business situations.
  • Proven ability to influence collaboratively and lead stakeholders effectively, including without direct authority.
  • Clear, inclusive, and adaptable communication skills.
  • Demonstrated potential and motivation to develop into future leadership roles.
  • Ability to communicate effectively by email, deliver presentations in English, and participate actively in English-language training and meetings.
  • Intermediate English communication skills, equivalent to a TOEIC score above 700.
