Role reports to: Area Managing Director South & Sub Sahara Africa Location: Europe/Middle East/Africa, South Africa, Gauteng, Johannesburg Work Location: Fully Onsite What you will do Key Responsibilities HCP Strategy & Marketing Develop and execute HCP marketing strategies that drive healthcare professional recommendation, market share growth, and brand penetration across strategic therapeutic areas and brands. Lead HCP segmentation, targeting, customer journey mapping, and engagement planning using market insights, sales data, customer feedback, and business performance metrics. Translate brand (global and local) strategies into impactful HCP activation plans that strengthen scientific credibility and support commercial objectives .

Scientific Content & Customer Engagement Trans-create and d evelop compelling scientific narratives, product positioning, and clinical messaging that effectively communicate brand value to healthcare professionals. Create and localise HCP promotional materials, detailing and selling aids, educational resources, presentations, digital content, congress assets, and leave-behinds. Design and implement omnichannel HCP engagement programmes leveraging face-to-face, digital, and hybrid channels to maximise reach and impact.

Support product launches and strategic brand initiatives through the development of evidence-based communication and engagement strategies. Training & Capability Development Lead therapeutic area training and capability-building initiatives for Sales Representatives, Regional Sales Managers, Key Account Managers, and other relevant customer-facing teams. Equip field teams with deep product knowledge, customer insights, competitor intelligence, and effective engagement strategies to improve customer interactions and commercial performance.

Develop and deliver training programmes covering: Therapeutic area expertise Product strategy and positioning Competitive landscape analysis Customer segmentation Patient journey mapping Scientific storytelling Selling and influencing skills Drive continuous learning through onboarding programmes, workshops, congress briefings, digital learning platforms, and capability-building events. HCP Partnerships & Professional Engagement Build and maintain relationships with Key Opinion Leaders, healthcare professional organisations, professional societies, and educational partners. Develop and execute speaker programmes, educational initiatives, advisory engagements, journal clubs, webinars, and congress activities to strengthen brand credibility and HCP engagement.

Identify opportunities to elevate brand leadership through strategic healthcare professional partnerships and scientific thought leadership platforms. Congresses, Events & HCP Activation Lead the planning and execution of national and regional congresses, educational meetings, workshops, webinars, and HCP engagement programmes. Develop congress strategies, engagement plans, educational content, lead-generation activities, and post-event follow-up initiatives.

Monitor and evaluate programme effectiveness through engagement metrics, recommendation trends, lead generation, and business impact measures. Commercial Excellence & Cross-Functional Leadership Collaborate closely with Brand Marketing, Sales, Regulatory, Commercial Excellence, Market Access, and Insights teams to ensure aligned execution against strategic priorities. Analyse market trends, competitor activity, customer feedback, and healthcare professional needs to identify growth opportunities and inform strategic decision-making.

Drive portfolio growth through data-driven recommendations, customer-centric engagement strategies, and operational excellence. Manage multiple projects, budgets, agencies, timelines, and stakeholders to ensure delivery of high-impact business outcomes. Require d Qualifications Education Bachelor's Degree in Life Sciences, Health Sciences, or a related discipline.

Postgraduate qualification in Marketing, Business Management, Healthcare Management, or a related field is advantageous . Experience Minimum 7 + years' experience in pharmaceutical marketing, healthcare professional marketing, pharmaceutical product management, or related commercial healthcare roles. Demonstrated experience as a: Group Brand Manager Franchise Lead Marketing Manager / Associate Director Pharmaceutical Group Product Manager Required Skills & Experience Proven experience developing and executing healthcare professional (HCP) engagement strategies aligned to commercial and brand objectives .

Strong experience in pharmaceutical product management, brand strategy, and healthcare marketing , specifically in the Pharmacy Channel . Demonstrated success in developing product positioning, value propositions, scientific messaging, and customer engagement programmes. Extensive experience equipping and developing sales representatives through therapeutic area training, capability building, product strategy, competitor analysis, objection handling, and customer engagement training.

Strong understanding of pharmaceutical market dynamics, healthcare professional decision-making, patient journeys, and competitive landscapes. Experience leading congresses, HCP educational programmes, speaker events, webinars, workshops, and professional society partnerships. Strong stakeholder management, influencing, project leadership, communication, and presentation skills.

Ability to translate clinical evidence and scientific data into relevant, compelling, and actionable marketing strategies and customer-facing content. Strong strategic thinking, commercial acumen, analytical capability, and execution excellence. Proven ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders in a fast-paced environment while delivering measurable business outcomes.
