Position Summary

Latigo Biotherapeutics is seeking a hands-on Senior Accountant with strong general accounting experience to support the Company’s growing accounting function.

Key Responsibilities

✓Manage general accounting areas such as R&D and CMC accruals and other liabilities, among others
✓Support the team in various other financial reporting activities while ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP and company accounting policies
✓Prepare related journal entries, reconciliations, roll forwards, supporting schedules, and flux analyses
✓Cross collaboration with other functions to obtain critical inputs and assumptions for monthly accrual determination
✓Analyze financial results, account activity, and balance sheet reconciliations while identifying and resolving accounting issues, unusual transactions, and reporting variances
✓Support internal and external audits by preparing audit schedules, responding to auditor requests, and ensuring timely completion of audit requirements
✓Help drafting accounting policies and SOPs and keeping them current
✓Use AI, automation and process simplification to identify and implement process improvements that strengthen financial reporting, accounting controls, operational efficiency, and compliance

Qualifications

✓Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field
✓3+ years of progressive accounting experience
✓Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, general ledger accounting, financial reporting, account reconciliations, and internal controls.
✓CPA preferred
✓Biotechnology, life sciences, CMC or R&D accrual experience preferred.
✓Experience supporting system implementations, workflow automation, data validation, or AI-enabled tools is a plus
✓Experience with NetSuite required, experience with Prendio, Coupa and Expensify is beneficial
✓Strong Excel, analytical, organizational, and communication skills
