Position Description

The CNC Maintenance Technician II supports manufacturing operations at Applied Medical by maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing CNC machine tools and production equipment. Working as part of a collaborative maintenance team, this CNC equipment technician plays a key role in keeping manufacturing lines running efficiently and safely. Applied Medical relies on skilled industrial maintenance technicians to minimize downtime, support consistent product quality, and uphold equipment reliability across the production environment.

This position requires flexibility to work weekends, extended shifts, and second or third shift schedules as needed, along with the ability to work more than eight hours a day, including weekends and holidays. Team members must be able to lift a minimum of fifty pounds and climb ladders up to fifteen feet.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform preventative maintenance, installation, troubleshooting, and repair on CNC machine tools and ancillary production equipment
  • Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical issues using machine diagnostics and alarm code analysis
  • Maintain detailed and accurate maintenance documentation
  • Collaborate with production team members, team leaders, and engineers to support consistent component quality
  • Monitor and maintain work areas to uphold organization and safety standards
  • Train new team members on maintenance procedures and equipment troubleshooting techniques

Position Requirements

This Position Requires the Following Skills and Attributes

  • Brings two to five years of experience troubleshooting, repairing, and performing preventative maintenance on CNC industrial machine tools and ancillary equipment
  • Reads and interprets mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical schematics
  • Applies knowledge of machine alarm codes and diagnostic tools to troubleshoot equipment malfunctions
  • Operates electrical test equipment, including digital multimeters (DMM), amp probes, meggers, and oscilloscopes
  • Uses machine levels, calipers, micrometers, and test indicators to support precision maintenance work
  • Works independently and collaborates effectively within a team environment
  • Uses basic hand tools to complete maintenance and repair tasks
  • Demonstrates strong hand eye coordination for precision maintenance tasks
  • Completes high school education or equivalent

Preferred

The Following Skills and Attributes Are Preferred

  • Troubleshoots nitrogen and oxygen generators and compressors
  • Troubleshoots and repairs electrical discharge machining (EDM), laser, and Swiss screw equipment
  • Works with Fanuc, Okuma, and Siemens machine controls
  • Completes a certificate or degree from a technical or vocational school
  • Demonstrates a proactive, self-motivated approach to team contribution
