Your Role
The Associate Scientist I will support safe, compliant, and efficient laboratory operations within the New Product Development Lab/M4WardTM Lab in a semiconductor materials environment. This role focuses on conducting chemical hazard reviews, managing chemical inventory, supporting laboratory safety programs, authoring work instructions and safety documentation, fulfilling chemical orders, and maintaining an organized laboratory workspace. The position works closely with scientists, engineers, Quality, and EH&S teams to ensure new materials and processes are implemented safely and effectively while enabling successful research, development, and customer support activities.
- ✓Review SDSs and chemical safety information; conduct hazard assessments for new chemicals, materials, and processes
- ✓Ensure chemicals are safely handled, stored, segregated, labeled, tracked, and disposed of in line with company and regulatory requirements
- ✓Maintain accurate chemical inventories, coordinate replenishment, and manage incoming chemicals and laboratory supplies
- ✓Partner with EHS teams to support laboratory safety programs, inspections, audits, corrective actions, and compliance activities
- ✓Prepare and maintain safety documentation, risk assessments, hazard analyses, work instructions, SOPs, and laboratory procedures
- ✓Keep controlled documents current and collaborate with technical teams to document new processes and best practices
- ✓Prepare, verify, package, and process chemicals and materials for internal use and customer shipments while maintaining accurate fulfillment records
- ✓Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient laboratory; support equipment upkeep, workspace readiness, 6S, and continuous improvement initiatives

Who You Are
Minimum Qualifications
- ✓Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, or Physics
OR
- ✓High School Diploma or GED
- ✓4+ years experience in a chemical production, laboratory or chemical engineering role
- ✓1+ year experience handling hazardous chemicals in a laboratory environment
Preferred Qualifications
- ✓A strong focus on safety and quality
- ✓Familiarity with chemical hazard reviews, Safety Data Sheets (SDSs), and risk assessment processes
- ✓Experience working in gloveboxes
- ✓Prior chemistry lab experience handling highly toxic chemicals, acids, and bases
- ✓Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills
- ✓Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint, SAP, and Management of Change Software (Intelex)
- ✓Strong data analysis, attention-to-detail, and organizational skills
- ✓Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- ✓A proactive, team-oriented approach to supporting laboratory operations
Pay Range for this position: $31.00-$48.00 per hour.
The offer range represents the anticipated low and high end of the base pay compensation for this position. The actual compensation offered will be determined by factors such as location, level of experience, education, skills, and other job-related factors. Position may be eligible for sales or performance-based bonuses.
