Your Role
The Associate chemist role is a laboratory-based position in Burlington, MA within the North America Validation Services Laboratory. The position reports directly to the Lab Manager and is responsible for the compliant management of customer product samples, laboratory consumables, filters, equipment sterilization logistics, and laboratory waste.
- ✓Manage customer product samples in line with current processes and approved SOPs, including sample receipt, organization, traceability, storage, return, handling, and disposal.
- ✓Organize and monitor customer products in freezers, refrigerators, and room-temperature storage according to SOP requirements, including conducting weekly inventory checks in the product receipt room.
- ✓Manage laboratory consumables and filter inventory, including stock monitoring, organization, labeling, replenishment, and usage tracking in LIMS.
- ✓Arrange device sterilization scheduling and shipment.
- ✓Manage laboratory waste and lab packs in accordance with applicable procedures and environmental, health, and safety requirements.
- ✓Maintain accurate records and ensure the integrity, compliance, and traceability of all extraction, sample, inventory, equipment, and waste-management activities.
- ✓This role may also support the extraction work in the extractables and leachables lab, autoclave and dishwashing, labware cleaning, media preparation in the core lab.
Additional Responsibilities
- ✓Foster a culture of Safety and Quality by ensuring all laboratory operations adhere to established Safety and Quality procedures.
- ✓Promptly report all accidents, unsafe conditions, incidents, or near misses to the Lab Manager.
- ✓Notify the Lab Manager of any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards.
- ✓Stay current with the learning plan and training modules, maintaining accurate documentation of all records.
- ✓Ensure that lab equipment, storage areas, and workspaces are kept clean and organized.
- ✓Report any aberrant or unexpected data, as well as deviations, to the Lab Manager promptly to facilitate efficient troubleshooting with QA oversight. Participate in QA investigations and CAPAs when applicable.
- ✓Initiate a deviation report if any non-conformity is detected.
- ✓Participate in the updating and periodic review of operational SOPs.
- ✓Assist with audits and inspections related to sterilization and safety.
- ✓Engage in local continuous improvement projects.
Physical Attributes
- ✓Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow EHS recommendations when handling chemicals and samples.
- ✓Ability to perform work in a laboratory environment while following applicable safety and handling requirements.

Who You Are
Minimum Qualifications
- ✓1+ years of laboratory experience (entry-level candidates considered with relevant coursework or internships)
- ✓High School Diploma or GED
- ✓1+ years of experience with basic laboratory safety practices and reading Safety Data Sheets (SDS/MSDS)
Preferred Qualifications
- ✓Bachelor’s degree in chemistry or chemical engineering
- ✓Ability to follow SOPs and protocols precisely and document activities clearly.
- ✓Strong attention to detail and analytical mindset.
- ✓Strong organizational and time-management skills; able to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- ✓Effective communication and teamwork skills; able to work well in a collaborative environment.
- ✓Proactive, reliable, and committed to safe laboratory practices
- ✓Experience with extraction techniques or filtration processes.
- ✓Familiarity with sterilization techniques.
- ✓Experience with LIMS, Mango, Salesforce, SharePoint and Smartsheet.
- ✓Knowledge of basic analytical techniques (e.g., basic chromatographic methods) or related instrumentation
Pay Range for this position: $24.00 -$37.00 per hour
The offer range represents the anticipated low and high end of the base pay compensation for this position. The actual compensation offered will be determined by factors such as location, level of experience, education, skills, and other job-related factors. Position may be eligible for sales or performance-based bonuses.
