Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated biochemist to join our Protein Science group. The individual will be part of a multidisciplinary team to design, produce and characterize novel multispecific antibodies. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a cross-functional team and contribute to the development of cutting-edge biotherapeutics in a fast-paced, rapidly growing biotech company with a bold vision.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to

  • Collaborate closely with colleagues within the interdisciplinary research functions and Biologics Discovery and Drug Development team to drive the design, production and screen of therapeutic molecules, and the optimization of their biochemical/ biophysical properties.
  • Play a key role in the development of innovative biologics drug candidates by participating in target feasibility assessment, leading efforts in building PoC molecules, and carrying out lead identification and optimization tasks using biochemical and cell-based assays.
  • Independently execute high throughput multispecific antibody construct assembly, protein purification using various chromatography methods, biochemical potency and biophysical stability screening.
  • Be responsible for experimental planning, execution, data analysis/interpretation, and communication with cross-functional teams for successful completion of projects.
  • Ensure effective, high-quality, and timely documentation in electronic laboratory notebooks.

Qualifications

  • Advanced degree required: MS or Ph.D in protein science, biochemistry, structure biology or other related disciplines
  • Lab experience required: MS with 10+ years or PhD with 3+ years of relevant professional experience, industrial experience in antibody and biologics drug discovery and development field preferred
  • Skilled in common molecular biology techniques, mammalian cell culture and recombinant protein expression using both transient and stable expression platforms
  • Direct experience with various protein purification techniques including affinity, IEX, SEC and mixed mode chromatography using AKTA systems is required
  • Proficient in routine biologics characterization and analytics technologies including BLI/SPR, ELISA, HPLC and UPLC; familiar with common cell-based assay platforms including plate readers and FACS
  • Excellent written and oral communication, organization, and data analysis skills.Outstanding troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Highly adaptable to a fast-paced work environment and capable of working both independently and collaboratively within project teams
